Cthulhu (pronounced, Ka-thoo-loo) is a cosmic entity created by author H.P. Lovecraft. The front of the coin is a symbolic representation of him with the words Cthulhu Fhtagn inscribed on the bottom which translates to “Cthulhu waits” or “Cthulhu waits dreaming”. The back of the coin is a scene from the short story Call of Cthulhu. In all of Lovecraft’s writings it is the only time Cthulhu makes a physical presence. In present day it is thought that Cthulhu waits dreaming at the bottom of the ocean. When the stars align correctly he will awaken and make his return.

It is believed that Cthulhu is the subconscious source of all of your fears and worries….so think of this as your creepy worry inducing coin.
