ALL polished blanks will have some polishing compound in the face grooves. It can easily be removed with a toothpick or soft toothbrush. It is not necessary to clean out the compound prior to flaming. Can be removed after flaming as it does not effect the coloring of the metal in anyway.

3 alloy Titanium Damascus with mirror polish. You can choose not flamed or flamed (for an upcharge) Flamed = Colored

Non-Flamed = no coloring

Why non-flamed? To give more versatility Non-flamed allows you to customize the colors you want, high heat or low heat. Recently I prefer the look of Flame before engraving. This will allow you to “erase” the color with the laser and them blacken with the laser.

If you have never flamed titanium damascus before you will need to thoroughly clean the blank removing any impurities and oils. Always handle with gloves after cleaning and until flaming is complete to avoid contamination which may result in splotcy colors. If you would like to work with an expert titanium damascus finisher in the USA we recommend.
